— Two Lines in the Forest
Spring 2020, Harvard GSD, Instructor: Toshiko Mori
A museum and archive for the chair collection of Mr. Oda in the forest of Higashikawa, Japan, guided by the following principles:
— Various datums of the tree canopy are to be experienced and enjoyed
— The entire archive is visible in open storage
— Upon the approach, the building appears to be a slender tower like the surrounding forest
— The experience of the museum is internal: a forest within a forest
— The scale of the archive is of the chair, of the body, and of the tree
